Dinner to Benefit Finger Lakes’ Healthy Food For All Cause.

Save the date! Guests at the Inn at Gothic Eves will have a special opportunity to sample a superb meal and help one of our favorite causes too. On October 5, 2014, Remembrance Farm in Trumansburg, New York, is hosting its first-ever Farm-To-Table Benefit Dinner with Agava Restaurant, featuring wines from Damiani Wine Cellars, a premier Finger Lakes winery.

Diners will be treated to an exquisite menu, but even better, they will be contributing to Healthy Food for All. This program, a partnership between local farms and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County, makes fresh produce accessible to households with limited income. The program was begun in 2006 with a mission to build a community where every member has access to safe, nutritious, affordable and culturally appropriate food. The collaborative works with local farms and suppliers and has garnered tremendous community support. The dinner will highlight local farms and suppliers, and the cooking of Agava Executive Chef Andre Jacquet.

The menu reflects local seasonal ingredients and Chef Andre’s passion for Southwestern flavors:
Duck confit with masa and pumpkin escabeche
Ceviche of Hamachi with apple-annato puree and sour orange aioli
Kale Salad with black bean hummus and assorted veggies
Roasted Root Vegetables with buffalo milk yogurt and mole poblano
Pork Carnitas Tamale with salsa verde and chicharron
Seared duck breast with mole amarillo, duck fat-refried beans and pickled fennel
Dark chocolate flan with candied smoked beets and pomegranate syrup

Wine pairings from Damiani Wine Cellars will accompany all dishes.
Music for the evening will be provided by the viol duo of Zoe Weiss and David Miller.

Dinner tickets are $75/person, all inclusive and 100% of the proceeds will subsidize CSA’s for low income families. Four tickets sold means one family will have access to a season of fresh produce. This is one of the season’s tastiest, and most rewarding, events, so you won’t want to miss it!
