Do you love wine? Do you have a green thumb? Bring these two loves together right here in Upstate New York! Wine-lovers and gardeners will rejoice at the 2013 Wine and Herb Festival, hosted by the Cayuga Wine Trail. On two consecutive weekends (April 26-28, 2013 and May 3-5, 2013) their 16 member wineries welcome you to a herb-infused experience.
With your ticket, you’ll receive a souvenir wineglass, the complimentary garden additions, a potted vegetable or herb plant, and a plant carrier. Each participating winery will also offer wine and herbed-food pairings to event participants. Find a dish that you especially enjoy? Recipe cards will be available so that you can prepare the bounty from your garden and relive your Finger Lakes Wine and Herb Festival adventure.
Also up for grabs are a number of prizes to be drawn from all event participants. Prizes include items from the Corning Museum of Glass, Water to Wine Tours, LaTourelle Resort and Spa, and more.
Tickets are limited, and are available by calling the Cayuga Wine Trail or visiting any Wegmans in the Finger Lakes Region. Of course, this innkeeper suggests that you make the call to assure that you don’t miss out on the event!
And event days aren’t limited to just the weekends! Each Friday of the event, four wineries welcome you just a little early. So plan an extended weekend and visit Montezuma, King Ferry, Long Point, and Six Mile Creek Wineries a day early. On Saturday and Sunday, all 16 Cayuga Wine Trail wineries welcome you between 10am and 6pm.
Advance tickets are $40 for a single, and $60 per couple; if you’re the designated driver(s), subtract $5 from each above price (you can still taste the food, gather the recipes, and collect the start of your garden). Tickets at the door (if available) are $45 for a single participant, and $65 for a couple. All prices are subject to 8% sales tax, and any mailed tickets are subject to a handling fee.
