It was a beautiful night to host a party for the casting director of the Food Network TV Station. Our very own catering chef for our special events from Simply Red Lakeside Bistro, Sam Izzo, was casted to be on Chopped. It is the show with secret ingredients in a basket and the chefs have to make 3 courses and the last one standing wins.
The casting director came to the Finger Lakes Region of NY to see what all of the hoopla was all about after meeting Sam. She was introduced to wine makers, chefs, artists, winery owners, organic farmers raising pigs, fruits and vegetables. It was a feast of wonderful cheeses, chocolates, sausages, fresh salads and fruits. All of the wineries brought out the reserve wines to show off to the director. We even had some local musical talent who now proclaims our Potter House porch to be the best “Pickin Porch”! Our guests also joined us for the festivities and one of them even played with the band using a composting bucket and two wooden spoons.
